Japi Honoo describes her imagery as stories of her “state of mind”. Her stories express “feeling out of time and belong to every age.” For Japi, digital techniques can assume the same function as the paint brush, enabling her to create new worlds and possibilities for the interpretation of femininity.

It is with great honor that Lila is able to present Maura Holden’s latest finished work, Divisions of Neptune, accompanied by a work of mytho-prose reflective of some of the originating feelings and meditations contained within this unique painting.

Stretching out like one of the Buddha’s great bejeweled parasols, the term Visionary Art encompasses a wide variety of styles, genres, periods, and degrees of abstraction. Definitions abound, but here is my hard crystal: visionary art is art that resonates with visionary experiences, those undeniably powerful eruptions of numinous and multidimensional perception that suggest other orders of reality.

The hummingbird is the quintessential symbol of the Nectarian form of art. In Brazil the hummingbird is called the ‘beija-flor’ – kisser-of-flowers. This beautiful poetic term describes the deep sensuality of the intimate engagement with Nature.

To pick things out of unlimited possibilities, arrange them in a new way, to give new meaning to them, and their own autonomy.
