Lila is proud to present this excellent overview of visionary art by Rob Percival. “Fuchs speaks elusively of “a secret art whose traces I have discovered with almost all people and cultures, but also in nature itself, there where the primeval world appears.” The nucleus of this secret art is a shared grammar, ‘ein verschollener Stil’, … this secret grammar is the unifying factor that underpins the bewildering diversity of the genre.”

In an exceptionally rare gesture, HR Giger has granted Triptykon the use of his dramatic painting Vlad Tepes (work no. 412, 200 x 140 cm, acrylic on paper on wood, 1978). It is the artist’s first authorized appearance on an album cover in 17 years, and the second time he collaborates with Warrior (following Celtic Frost’s To Mega Therion album in 1985).

All the essential elements of twentieth century’s Zeitgeist are present in an inextricable amalgam in Giger’s biomechanoid art. In his inimitable style, he masterfully merges elements of dangerous mechanical contraptions of the technological world with various parts of human anatomy.
