Daniel Mirante

Jul 2, 2010 Daniel Mirante in Gallery 2 Comments Tags: Avalon (UK), Daniel Mirante

Daniel Mirante has been wandering the wilderness of the Mundus Imaginalis for 32 years. A self-taught artist, his art attempts to reflect the riches of the astral, mythopoetic and archetypal mysteries of the human experience.

“I am interested in making icons that honour the deep ecology, of mind and nature as one continuum, unbroken”. Magical birds, inner sanctums, giant trees and dakini’s (feminine representations of enlightened energy) are recurring motifs through his oil paintings. “The gothic painters of Flanders, as well as the thanka traditions of Tibet and Nepal remain my primary inspirations”. Attempting to dissolve typical and worn interpretations of familiar religious motifs, his work attempts to ‘light up’ familiar symbols in refreshed and enlivened ways.

Hi Daniel, I am really impressed with your work, much more in the akashic realm than any thing I do. I would love to have an extended conversation with you about all of this sometime. Good luck in your continued efforts.
