Horacio Bustos Sculptures and Paintings
Based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Horacio Bustos is an artist who’s originality lies in a sidereal fusion of warrior-like, religious, medieval, fetishistic and gothic influences.
Daniel Mirante: I see many combined diverse influences in your art, of mythology, ancient wars, and bizzare visions. How do you access these frequencies? What meaning do these beings you sculpt have for you?
Horacio Bustos: If, really, you see esoteric influences, they are absolutely unconscious. When I work, I’m focussed but lacking any imagery, I let myself be taken by a superior force. I am like the tool of a surgeon. I am operated. I respond to the hand that is the true guide.
Daniel Mirante: What artists have been especially strong inspirations in your artistic practice?
Horacio Bustos: There is an artist who truly inspires me, and that is Hieronymus Bosch, of whom I have the same initials HB.
Daniel Mirante: Thanks for sharing your amazing work !
Horacio Bustos: I hope to have satisfied your questions. Namaste, Daniel.
