I attended high school with Mark, and was in the same art classes,… I remember seeing many of his early pieces, and how mind blowing they were to me then. Mark was a year ahead of me, but we shared in the same circle of friends. I remember one of his drawings that showed the Earth Mother as an open birthing channel of Light , that wove up into redwood trees, the stars and the night sky !! So totally cool. Brent Smith ( no longer with us, so sad), one of our teachers, taught a class called “Ideas and Images”, when among other things, he taught up to do Zen meditation. We would meet after school for a 1/2 hour meditation session. I can see in my mind`s eye right now many of Mark`s images form those early years !!
